On the 15th and 16th of November 2018, the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre together with Technology Park Ljubjana, is organising a two day workshop on Start-ups and Spin-offs in Innovation Ecosystems in Ljubjana, Slovenia.
If you are a policymaker or part of other innovation stakeholder such as universities, research organisations, technology transfer offices, science and technology parks, chamber of commerce, business angels, venture capitalist or from other relevant practitioner in South-East Europe, then this is the workshop for you!
Throughout the events policymakers and innovation practitioners will be provided with insights in setting up successful start-up, spin-off and knowledge transfer platforms with support programmes that can strengthen regional and national innovation systems. The key elements in the development of successful innovation ecosystems will also be discussed. Further, issues such as innovation ecosystem elements, ecosystem support systems and successful start-ups ecosystems will be discussed.
The workshop is only available for 150 participants, and the attendance to the event is by invitation only. If you wish to participate you are encouraged to submit an expression of interest (deadline 10 October 2018). An overview of the draft programme can be found at the event page.
Given the limited number of places, we will not be able to admit all interested applicants but will perform a selection based on applicant’s background, affiliation and motivation with due respect to a fair geographical representation.
Reimbursement of costs
Depending on your background, affiliation and country of origin you may be eligible to obtain financial support to cover the costs of attending this workshop. Nationals from the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey may apply for waiving accommodation and travel costs.
