ASTP-Proton invites all members to the High Tech Campus Eindhoven – the smartest square km in Europe and one of the main High Tech Hubs in the world – for a unique chance to learn more about some of the most inspiring examples of knowledge transfer and collaboration. Explore the successes of the Brainport Eindhoven region with stellar examples of  partnership between corporates and startups, and between industry and universities.

Knowledge sharing and collaboration are the key ingredients to the successful innovative business ecosystems such as the Brainport Eindhoven region in the south of the Netherlands. A willingness to collaborate and share success is part of the DNA of this region and has led the triple helix stakeholders (Business, Academia, Government) to finding effective ways to build mutual strength and reach the common goal of spurring innovation and economic growth.

Over the last 15  years, the High Tech Campus Eindhoven – the former Philips Research Campus – has seen a transformation from a closed corporate research environment into a thriving business ecosystem and Open Innovation Campus. It now houses a community of over a 140 high-tech companies with a healthy mix of large corporate, SMEs, innovative startups and research institutes. The presence of large multinationals such as Philips, NXP, ASML, and the nearby Eindhoven University of Technology provide a stimulating environment for high-tech innovation.

The programme for this Site Visit includes an introduction to, and tour of, the High Tech Campus Eindhoven. A behind the scenes look at the successful High Tech XL accelerator programme which attracts high-tech startups to the Brainport Eindhoven region and links to corporates through the Eindhoven Startup Alliance; the collaboration between Philips Healthworks and health-tech incubator NLC to scout and create new ventures in Healthtech; an inside view of how Philips interacts with TTO’s and the strategic collaboration between Philips and Eindhoven University of Technology.

The day will end with drinks and an opportunity to network.
