WHO WE ARE
ASTP-Proton is a nonprofit organization committed to knowledge transfer between universities and industry. Our focus is to further improve the quality of impact that public research has on the economy and society.
The Association of European Science and Technology Transfer Professionals (ASTP) was the European professional association for knowledge transfer (KT). Established in 2000 by a group of leading practitioners, with more than 650 members from 41 countries, ASTP’s focal point has been on providing outstanding training and practice exchange among KT professionals.
In 2003, The European Knowledge Transfer Association was created with financial aid from the European Commission and has been self-supporting since 2007.
ASTP and Proton Europe decided to combine forces in May 2013 to effectively provide knowledge transfer for professionals with a broader scope, being more inclusive in the “innovation ecosystem”.
Here at ASTP-Proton our goal is promoting and professionalizing knowledge transfer practice. Our main focus being on knowledge transfer for professionals and technology transfer offices.
Our mission is to help with professional development via courses online or in-person. Our courses are carefully designed for individuals in the technology transfer field.
ASTP-Proton portrays the interest of members in innovation and technology transfer policies. We collect and publish data, success stories and other information relevant to the knowledge transfer field and its stakeholders.
